Die Kommandantur

 HISTORY:

After the defeat of the French and English armies in the Battle of France in 1940 and the signing of the armistice in Compiègne. France was divided by germans into two zones:

- Occupied zone, in the North and West, under the German military administration.

- Free zone, in the South and East, governed by the Vichy regime under Marshal Pétain.

The occupied zone was divided into areas, each of which was administered by a command (Kommandantur), from which all administrative and military aspects of the occupied zone were managed.

The Diorama shows one of these kommandantur, located in a typical manor house in the North of France inside a fenced estate. In this vignette many details and scenes can be seen, both outside the estate as in the garden and even inside the house.

The house is sectioned and from behind you can see several rooms in which different activities can be seen.
