AEC Matador

The AEC Matador was a 4x4 heavy duty truck developed by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC) for the British and Commonwealth armies during World War II.

It was used as a heavy artillery tractor, although it also developed other uses, so the RAF used them both as cargo trucks and tankers.

In North Africa, some of these trucks were adapted by removing the roof of the cabin, and some of them even mounted a 6-pounder anti-tank gun in their bed.

Boffors 40 mm

During 1931, the Swedish company Boffors carried out the design and tests of a 40 mm rapid-firing anti-aircraft gun, reaching a rate of 120 shots per minute by the end of this year.

In 1934 the Dutch Navy bought the first units for one of its cruisers.

The British Army tested the first units of this weapon in 1937 and bought the license for its serial production. It was used both as an anti-aircraft gun and as a surface, naval and land gun.

It was used by various armies, although its notoriety was reached in WWII with the British and American armies, the Chrysler company in th States also manufactured this weapon in large quantities during the war.
