T17E1 Staghound

The T17E1 is an American-designed medium armored vehicle by Chevrolet in 1941 that was purchased by the British Purchasing Commission for use in the Desert War.

A total of 3,844 Staghounds were produced during the war, with a 6-cylinder rear engine and a 37mm M6 gun.

Production began in October 1942, but they arrived too late for the Africa campaign, so their first service was in Italy, where their large size was found to make them difficult to use on narrow European roads and streets.
