Like the Dingo, the Daimler Armored Car was developed by the BSA (Birmingham Samll Arms). The first prototypes were built in 1939, but transmission design problems delayed its entry into service until 1941.

A total of 2694 units of this vehicle were built, which were equipped with a 95 hp rear engine.

The first units participated in the North African campaign and later participated in the liberation of Europe; even a few units also participated on the Southeast Asian front.

It was a light armored reconnaissance vehicle (2-pound QF gun) that often carried out reconnaissance in formations of 2 Daimlers and 2 Dingos.
