The Sd.Kfz 252 is an important variation of the Sd.Kfz 250 as an armored ammunition carrier. Like the Sd.Kfz 250 was designed by Demag as a small-sized half-track (less than 5 m in length),

It was fitted with a 100-horsepower, water-cooled, 6-cylinder Maybach engine, which allowed it to circulate on all terrains at a maximum speed of 65 km/h (40 mph).

The Sd.Kfz 252 had the upper part of the box cut out, which was closed and mounted two rear doors for easy exchange of ammunition, which was transported inside a closed and armored box.
