Ketternkrad (Sd.Kfz 2)

The Sd.Kfz 2, konwn as Ketternkrad, was initially designed as light tractor for airborne units to be transported by a Junkers Ju 52 aircraft.

The Sd.Kfz.2 was designed and built by the NSU Werke AG. Patented in June 1939. At the front it had a motorcycle fork for steering and small tracks provided traction. It could tow small cargos as ammo trailers or small guns like the pak 36; it was used even as runway tug of the jet aircraft Me-262.

It was first used in the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 and was later used on all fronts, including North Africa.
