Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind

The Flakpanzer IV or Wirbelwind was basically a Flak 38/20 multiple anti-aircraft gun, protected in an open hexagonal turret, all mounted on the chassis of a Panzer IV.

It combined the great firepower of the Flak 38/20 (x4) with the mobility of the Panzer IV which made it very effective as anti-aircraft protection or against light armor or infantry.

They did not have a decisive participation since only about 100 units were built throughout the war.
