The T 34 is the most famous Soviet tank of WWII and beyond.

It was designed and built by engineers Mikhail Koshkin, Aleksandr Morozoz and Nikolai Kucherenko at the Kharkov KhPZ plant. Operation Barbarossa caused its production to be moved to plants in the East.

Its design was revolutionary and highly effective, and their sloping front armor gave these tanks an advantage over German Panzer IV armor, which helped tip the scales in favor of the Red Army.

The simple design and low cost of construction made the T-34 the most produced tank in the Soviet Union during WWII.

This kit features the 1940 T 34-76 version that mounts a 76.2 mm gun in a two-man turret.
