In 1934 Citroën launched a new car that was known as Citroën Traction Avant, as it was a front-wheel drive model.

The bodywork was designed by Flamino Bertino, which gave it a very modern appearance for the time. This vehicle became an icon in Europe in the late 1930s and 1940s.

At the start of World War II, production was suspended and resumed after the war in 1946. Upon entering France, the Germans requisitioned a large number of these cars for the use of their army.

In August 1944, during the Paris uprising, this car became the icon of the FFI (Forces Françaises de l’Interieur) (the resistance),

This kit shows the 4-door version, which was the most common and widespread.
